Overview
This Bach 42BOF was an exceptionally clean, lightly used professional tenor trombone. Purchased new from an authorized Conn-Selmer dealer only a few years before it was sold, it was a single-owner instrument that had seen relatively little use and remained in excellent condition.
The 42BOF combines the familiar sound and response of the Bach 42 with the Meinlschmidt-designed Open Flow valve and Bach’s European-style open-wrap F-attachment. The result is smooth, quiet valve action and a more open response through the F-attachment while retaining the broad, centered sound for which the Bach 42 is known.
Mechanically, this instrument was exactly as it should have been. The valve was quick, quiet, and smooth. Handslide alignment was excellent, the inner tubes were straight, and there was virtually no wear in the usual grip areas. It had no dents, dings, previous damage, or evidence of prior repair.
The original Bach factory case and factory mouthpiece were included at the time of sale.
