12LT

7.5

This is a vintage 1975 Bach 12LT trombone from the sought-after Corporation era. It features a yellow brass bell paired with the lightweight .500 bore 12 handslide, built for responsiveness and projection in commercial, studio, and lead jazz settings. This model retains its original lacquer and parts, and includes the original hard case. The handslide has been properly serviced with full alignment and treatment, making it fast, smooth, and tension-free — ready for pro-level playing right out of the case.

There has been a previous repair to the bell flare — specifically, a patch on the wire rim. However, the bell was not creased, and the repair was done cleanly. Structurally and acoustically, the horn remains strong and resonant. It plays exactly the way a good 12LT should — nimble, punchy, and expressive in all registers.

What makes the Bach 12LT from the Corporation era special?
Many players consider the Corporation-era 12LT models to be the pinnacle of Bach's small bore craftsmanship. Built after the move from Mt. Vernon to Elkhart, Indiana in 1963, these instruments carried forward Vincent Bach’s original designs with consistent build quality and exceptional balance. The 12LT is especially loved by west coast jazz and commercial players for its blend of tone, speed, and projection. New 12LT models today retail around $2,800, but many players feel they can’t match the playability and responsiveness of a well-preserved vintage example like this one.
