Current Status & Updates
Every instrument that comes into The Brass Exchange goes through a hands-on preparation cycle before it appears on the website. This process includes cleaning, mechanical inspection, slide or valve work where needed, and final preparation for photography and full presentation.
This page provides a preview of used trombones and brass instruments currently being prepared before they are listed for sale. Instruments shown here are at different stages of that process and will be released once they meet our performance-ready standards.
👉 This page is designed as a preview of what's coming soon, offering returning visitors a first look at instruments before they are fully listed.

These preview images give returning visitors an early look at real inventory before final servicing, detailed photography, pricing, and full product listings are completed.
Inventory changes regularly as instruments move through cleaning, mechanical preparation, play testing, photography, and final inspection before release.
Important Note on Availability
Detailed photos, pricing, and final specifications are completed once each instrument is fully serviced and listed on the website.
While early inquiries are welcome, most instruments are finalized and released through the main website once preparation is complete.

About Our Preparation Process
Our in-house preparation typically includes:
- Chemical bath cleaning
- Dent removal where needed
- Mechanical repairs as required
- Slide alignment and optimization
- Valve and linkage inspection and adjustment
- Play-testing by Doug to confirm player-ready status
- Additional refinement for instruments designated performance-ready
Once an instrument meets our standards, it moves into photography and final content creation before the full listing goes live.
Many pieces include original cases, mouthpieces, or accessories. Professional models can often be fine-tuned or customized on request.
