This King 2B Plus (2BPL) professional jazz trombone is a near-new, U.S.-made instrument built in Elkhart, Indiana. The 2B Plus offers a modern variation of King’s legendary 2B design, pairing a lightweight straight .500" bore slide with a 7½" yellow brass bell for quick response, strong projection, and excellent versatility.
Unlike the traditional dual-bore King 2B popularized by Tommy Dorsey, the 2B Plus uses a straight .500" bore slide. This configuration delivers clean articulation, an efficient response, and an easy upper register. The result is a professional jazz trombone equally comfortable leading a big band, performing in a commercial horn section, or serving as a solo voice in a small ensemble.
This instrument was purchased new by a single adult owner and saw very little use. It remained in outstanding original condition with no dents, dings, previous repairs, or evidence of abuse. The original lacquer was beautifully preserved, and the lightweight handslide had exceptionally smooth action.
